Biography

Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa FCNA, FNIIS, Katukan Yauri, is an Astute Technocrat, Administrator, and Financial Manager who was born in Yauri, a riverine community in southern Kebbi State.He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management and Masters in Bussiness Administration from the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto and Bayero University, Kano respectively.He had a stint in the Academia before joining the services of the Kebbi State Ministry of Finance where he meritoriously rose to become a Director of Finance and Head of Community Banking Unit . He was also a Financial Controller, African Development Bank Assited Health Rehabilitation Project in Kebbi State.

Career

Between the year 2000 and 2008 he served as a Commissioner and member of the Kebbi State Executive Council in the Ministries of Agriculture and Rural Development, Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, as well as Works and Transport.He was Chief of Staff Federal Capital Territory Authority (FCTA) and later Honourable Commissioner, Lands, Housing and Urban Development in Kebbi State.Sadiq Yelwa also chaired and sat on the board of many private firms with special interest in ICT, Oil and Gas and Agricultural sector.He is a fellow and member of many professional bodies that include, the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Nigeria Institute of Management, Institute of Corporate Executives of Nigeria and Nigerian Institute for Industrial Security among others.He is a Philanthropist and Humanitarian admitted on the hall of fame, World Humanitarian Support and Development Forum. Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa also received Honorary Doctorate Degrees from both Carolina and All Saint Universities of USA.He also held many leadership positions in Student Movements, Community Associations and in Politics.
